Montgomery Ward - Totally useless Customer Service regarding pre-buyout MW products
Found old pair of MW binoculars, needed some replacement parts after years of use/storage. I knew there would be no warranty, but hopefully a forward contact on where to obtain service parts.
The CSR was not only useless, but rather curt in explaining how "THAT MW doesn't exist anymore, go look on ebay or something". I was just hoping that there may be an old reference number or 1-800 number or some point of contact. Possibly a "we don't handle that product anymore, but you may try XYZ, they used to work with the old MW repair dept" or something. Nope.
Just a very clear "we dont mess with old things" attitude and the crystal clear message that MW doesn't care about post-sale customer service. I will never order anything from them from this point on, based simply on this phone call.
Even just a more understanding, respectful tone could have retained a customer. Their loss.
